After Frank has joined the AEM team, he was responsible for coordinating business and engineering operations of the overall AEM engineering ecosystem combining traditional program management as well as data-driven and automated principles to ensure seamless releases and go-to-market.
As part of the Adobe Cloud Technology organization Frank and his team were coordinating the planning, development, releases and operations of Adobe I/O cloud service, a business critical part of the Adobe Cloud Platform. Adobe I/O is the place for developers looking to integrate, extend, or create apps and experiences based on Adobe's products and technologies. In this context, Frank has been responsible for the Business Operations (organizational strategy, key talent development, budget planning, etc.) of the Adobe Developer Ecosystem organization which included the company-wide Open Source process and Adobe Sensei program. His team has been coordinating company wide standards efforts like the Platform API or the Experience Data Model (XDM) which has been made available to the public in 2017.
Frank was leading Adobe shared component development for metadata and content analysis effort not only for desktop but for services and mobile environments. This includes the Adobe Creative Cloud™ and related Adobe mobile apps.
As part of this, he led industry wide digital media standardization and data modeling projects working closely with leading companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Canon, or Sony and as well as organizations, i.e. standardizing the Adobe Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) which had been published as an ISO standard in 2012 (ISO 16684-1).
Frank was leading the Adobe's XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) technology. His responsibilities included driving use case scenarios and workflows with internal teams and external partners, planning and coordinating release cycles and delivering high quality components to internal and external clients. The XMP core technology is being used by more than 30 Adobe applications ranging from Adobe Acrobat Reader to Enterprise solutions such as Adobe LiveCycle. In addition, XMP has been adopted by a large amount of industry leading partners and customers using Adobe's public XMP specification and the freely available XMPToolkit SDK on adobe.com: http://www.adobe.com/go/xmp/. Frank promoted the XMP technology on various conferences and workshops, speaking to audiences up to 1500 people.
Adobe VersionCue adds collaboration services to the creative workflow. With Version Cue, designers can centrally manage project files, work in parallel with others using an intuitive version control system, track file status with comments, use Adobe Bridge to find files visually, search for XMP metadata, and host Adobe PDF reviews. Leading a world-wide development team, Frank has has been responsible for development and integration of the Adobe VersionCue client technology into industry leading applications like Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign or Adobe Flash: http://www.adobe.com/go/versioncue/
